There is an abandoned vehicle at the end of my road. Whose responsibility is it to deal with the matter and whom can I inform?

It is against the law to abandon a vehicle (Refuse Disposal Amenity Act 1978) and if convicted can cost up to £2,500 or 3 months in prison.

You should report abandoned vehicles by contacting your local district council:

Cambridge City (01223) 457000
East Cambridgeshire (01353) 616273
Fenland (01354) 602100
Huntingdonshire (01480) 388297
South Cambridgeshire (01223) 443000

When you call, you will be asked for details of where the vehicle is, it's colour, registration number, make, condition, how long it has been there, if it is taxed and if so, the expiry date.

We need you to help us locate them!
